Ch: 8, meet the family.

AAwww, I love this, because ....

       The next day, Jake drove me to work again, and I told him  about Alice. "She's really nice! I just know you'll like her!", I said. He smiled. "Of course I'll like her. a friend of your's, is a friend of mine", he said.

"Did I tell you how old she is?"

"Yeah. She's 18, right?"

"Yeah...y'know, she's always been like a big sister to me. I really love her"

"Really? Thats cool"

"Speaking of siblings, I still haven't been to your house yet, and I haven't met your family"

"Oh...Oh, yeah. Sorry"

     I was really eager to meet his aunt and uncle, and his little brother. I wanted to see what his house looked like, his room, everything. "How about after work, we drive over to my house, and I'll introduse you guys?", he asked. I Smiled. "Sure. I'm so excited to meet them", I said.

 

    As soon as our shifts were over, Jake and I left work, and headed to his place. When we got there, we were at a yellow, two story house, with a porch swing, and a multi-colored mail box. He led me up to the front door, and opend it. He stepped right in, and I followed. Then, he yelled something upstairs. "Lisa! We've got company!". A few seconds later, a woman, about in her late 30's came walking down the stairs. She was wearing mom jeans, with a red T-shirt, and black slippers on her feet. She had black hair, just like jake, and it was up in a pony tail. Her eyes looked really tired, and She had a lighted cigarett in her hand. She had on no makeup, accept for some black, smuged eyeliner. And, despite all this, she was actually quite pretty. "Lisa, this is Laura, my girlfriend", said Jake. She smiled at me, showing perfectly white teeth. "It's nice to meet you, Laura", She said, in an almost low, raspy voice. "I've heard allot about you. I can tell you've been treating my nephew quite well. My husband will be home in a few minutes, so why don't you two come into the kitchen, and make yourselves a snack?", she said. "o-okay. If you insist", I said. Jake led me into the kitchen, and together, we fixed ourselves up some macorony and cheese. Just as we started eating, a tall man walked in to the house. He looked like he was in his early forties, and he had blonde hair. His eyes looked cold, and he looked really angry. He was so tall, that his head louched the top of the doorway. He was extremely skinny, and he looked really pale. "Laura, this is my uncle, Bob. Bob, this is Laura, my girlfriend", Said Jake, as he introdused us. "Hi! It's nice to meet you, sir", I said. "Hi", he said, and he marched upstairs. "Don't mind him", said Lisa, "he's just crabby because his boss fired him today". Jake Stared at her in disbelief. "What? Why did'nt you tell me sooner?", he asked. "I'm sorry, Jake, but I was afraid of what you'd say...", she said. "Damn it!", he said. I was confused...Why was he so upset?

"Laura?", he said. I jumped back in surprise. "Wh-what?" I saked. He frowned. "I'm sorry, did I startle you?".

"No...No, you did'nt.."

"Oh...good"

"Well...?"

"Oh yeah! Do you want to meet my brother?"

I had almost forgotten about his brother. "Sure! Of course!", I said. I followed him down stairs to a bedroom with a poster on the door that said, "Stay out". He opend it up, reveiling a bunk bed, a bean bag chair, a TV, a computer, and a desk. A boy was sitting at the computer desk, typing something up. "Yo, little bro! You said you wanted to meet my girlfriend, so here she is!", he said. The boy turned to face us, and there he was. He had black hair, glasses, and braces. He looked a little older then my brother Josh, and he was basicly just a smaller version of Jake. I could tell by his room, that he was the nerdy type. But as soon as Jake said girlfriend, he was on his feet, introdusing himself to me. "Hello. I'm Mathew, Jake's brother. I'm 14, and I'm so happy to finally be meeting Jakes first girlfriend!", he said.

First...girl friend? I was his first girlfriend? I could'nt believe it. I was both shocked, and confused. Mathew grinned, showing his blue and green colored braces. "Our uncle gave us a rule that we're not alloud to date until we're 15, and Jake had'nt asked anyone out until he asked you!", Mathew said. I looked at Jake, and he was blushing, obviously embarassed. "Listen kiddo, we...gotta go. So...yeah, c'mon Laura, lets go see my room", he said. "Alright, Bye Laura, it was nice meeting you!", Mathew gushed. I said goodbye, and followed Jake to his room. He opened the door, and led me insiide. His walls were painted navy blue, and there was a twin sized bed in the right hand corner. He had some posters of different bands all over the walls, and there was a TV, and a computer set up for him. His dresser and his closet were side by side in the left hand corner. The theme of the room was blue, since everything was blue. It must be his favorite color, I thought.

 

    After awhile, he drove me home, and I texted Alice againg about her staying at my house. She said she was perfectly fine with going to work with me. I was happy, as long as she was happy.
