Chapter Eighteen

     "Alex wait!" my mom was calling after me now, because right after she asked what I was doing there, I had turned around and angrily started to stomp off down the street. "Alex!" She called from behind me, " I don't see what the big deal is".

I kept on walking. I didn't want to see her. Not then, not ever. Not ever again. First, she said she would stop smoking....she basicly promised me she would.....and now....this? I had had enough of her excuses. I had lived my whole life with this woman, and I was sick and tired of her crap. So I was leaving.

"Alex! Alex, wait!" She was yelling now. "Alex--Please let me expla-", just then, I spun around, completely furious. "Explain? You waited all this time so you could expain this now? " I yelled, not even wanting an answer, " Well, it's kind of late for that, Mother!" She just stood there, looking frightend. "Tell me this", I began, "Just when did you plan on, "Explaining" to me why you were an alchohaulic? Huh? And just when did you plan on "Explaining" to me why you never gave a crap--about anything? Hhhmmm? Well let me "Explain" something to you, Ms. Soyer. I'm done.Okay? I've had enough. Of you, and of everything else!"

I turned back around, and started to run down the street. I could hear her calling from behind me. I heard her choked out sobbs from all the way down the street.

But all of a sudden, she started running too--After me! She was surprisingly fast; for a thirty-year-old.

"Alex!" She screamed, "Please; don't go! Don't leave me! Don't leave me like he did!"

I turned around, once again. "Shut up! Shut up you stupid-- I don't need you! And I'm pretty damn sure that you never needed me either!"  I was crying by then. At that moment, I hated her. I really did hate her. Even if she had been trying to change, she was'nt trying hard enough!

We just stood there, in the middle of the street. Crying our eyes out.

I waited for her to say something, but she did'nt. She just stood there, with a sad look on her face.

"Goodbye mom", I finally said, then, I ran down the street, toward sophie's house. And this time, she did'nt  follow me.

Aww, poor Alex! She really does have a crappy life! :( i hope her mom can change 4 good, and Alex still tries to change for good 2.
