chapter twelveA Chapter by Kia-chan!Sophie and I were standing in front of a blue, average size, house. Every single window was identical, except for one on the second floor with a pot of flowers hanging from it. There was a wild flower bed at the front of the house. The mailbox was sitting next to the driveway. it had flower print all over it. The lawn was perfectly mowed, and green as could be, without a single weed. It was just like on TV, on one of those nature shows, or on "Desperate House Wives ". Sophie led me up the driveway, while I stared intently at the quaint, little, house. "Here we are", she said. She opend the front door, like she was Willy Wonka inviting Charlie, and the rest of the group into the Chocolate room. I really did feel like Charlie as I stepped into the buetiful, cookie cutter house. I looked around, and to my disapointment, there was no chocolate to be seen. We were standing in a dimly lit entry way. A few pairs of shoes sat on a rug on the floor. Some hooks on the wall were decorated with coats, and atleast one sweatshirt. There was a frame on the wall that read " Home is were the heart is", in fancy, sewed on, letters. "Please take off your shoes", Sophie said, polightely. I quickely removed my " Vans", and started to walk up the stairs. " Wait for me!" Sophie called after me. I waited while she removed her silk, little-miss-perfect, flats. Then, we both walked up the stairs, and stepped into the living room. A tall boy, with light brown hair, blue eyes, a T-shirt with the word " Hollister" on it, and blue jeans, sat on a lazy-boy reclyner, in the corner of the living room. He was the most handesome boy I'd ever seen! He looked only a little older then I was. " Alex, this is my older brother, Blake", Sophie said. "Hi", Blake said. " Hi. So, how old are you, anyways?" I asked. " I'm sixteen, but I'll be seventeen next month", he said. " Alex will be staying over for dinner tonight!" Sophie said, interupting our conversation. " Alright. Then I'll be sure to be extra nice to her" said Blake. Sophie started telling Blake about how we met, while I thought about what was happening. It was only a two year difference! He was sixteen, and I was fourteen, so it was okay for me to like him, right? But he was my friends brother, and that would be kind of awkword. My head was spinning with questions, until another voice interupted my thoughts. " Well, you look like a nice girl", said a short, pretty woman, who stood in front of me. She had short, brown hair, blue eyes, and she wore a yellow skirt, with a white, yellow trimed shirt, and yellow, high heels. She looked allot like Sophie. " Oh,um, Hi. I'm Alex, Sophie's friend", was all I could manage to choke out. " Well it's very nice to meet you, Alex", she said. Then, she briskly turned around and walked away, into the kitchen. " Oh great", Blake began, " She must be in a bad mood again. She's usually very talkative. She must have gotten into another fight with dad". When he said that, I wondered what kind of cookie cutter mom was she? I did'nt think it was possible for a family that seemed so perfect, to have a fueding, mom and dad. But then again, it's only healthy for a good relationship to have atleast some fights in it. " Oh, no! I hope mom's alright", Sophie said, frantickly." Settle down,Sophie! I'm sure mom's just fine. It can't be half as bad as their last fight, right?" Blake said. I wondered what happend in their last fight. Was it violent? Did it end with lots of sobbing and crying? Was there lots of shouting? I was yet again, bombarded with an overload of questions, and no answers. The next thing I knew, I was sitting at a dinner table, surrounded by one hot guy, a little angel girl, a cookie cutter wife, and one cookie cutter husband. Sophie's father looked almost identical to his son ( only he had a beard). We sat there and ate. We had stake, mashed potatos, and green beans. There was little conversation. © 2010 Kia-chan! |
