chapter eight

A Chapter by Kia-chan!

I decided not to go to school the next day. I did'nt want to get Sophie, or anyone else sick, so I played hooky, and went for a walk around the nieghborhood. I was walking around, minding my own buisness, when I heard a loud voice coming from behind me. " Hey, Soyer! where the hell were you! We hav'nt seen you in days!", it was one of the girls in my gang. Following behind her, were three more girls, dressed in the usual, yankee fashion. " You skipped out on us, twice in a row! You sure as hell better not be goin' to that damn school of your's! ", one of the girls yelled. " If you are, your gonna wish you were never born!", yelled another. " So what if I am? and what're you gonna do about it?", I asked. " We'll kick your a*s! What else?", one girl said. " Do'nt get smart with us, Soyer! We'll kick your a*s even harder if you do'nt stop being such a smart a*s!", said the leader of there tiny group. " stay the hell away from our turf' until you can learn your place in the world! Goin' to school is a huge waste of time. If ya' know whats good for ya', then, you'll hang with us! right?", she looked at me, waiting for an answer. I knew I was stuck with them. I knew it, because whenever a girl tried to leave there gang, the other gang members would beat them so bad, some people even came close to death by leaving! It took allot of nerve to leave your gang. It was so dangerous, I had never even thought about leaving. " right", I said. " Good! then we'll see you tomarrow, Soyer. At 10:00 pm, sharp! And you sure as hell better not be late!", she said. The four of them walked away. I stood there, shaken by their sudden arrival. I was really annoyed by their sudden out-burst. I hated the fact, that they thought that if anyone so much as looked at them wrong, they should go all ape s**t on your a*s. Still, I knew I had to go to the meeting the next day. I knew what they would do to me if I did'nt show up. I was a coward. I was too afraid, not to go!
