Gay people

A poem about gay people deserved to have some respect too.

Gay people have rights too,

Some say that god hates gay people.

Well they’re wrong.

Gay people can do whatever they want,

They  don’t need to be called a homo or a f*g.

All they want is peace,

Come together and lets hold hands.

Stop making them feel sad.

All they want is to be glad for each other.

Author's Note

I'm not gay either, but I know some of my friends are gay, bi or a lesbian. I just be their friend no matter who they are.

How can one hate how one loves another? Isn't it enough that they love at all? Every ounce of love in the world is needed in our broken world. As long as both parties are willing and both flourishing from each other's expression of love, who cares?

Oscar Wilde would be proud. "The love that dare not speak its name" seems to be quite vociferous today. I'm quite at a loss as to why the word "homo"; an abbreviation for homosexual, would be offensive however. I don't think I would be offended if anyone called me a "hetero"...I mean, I am what I am. David Bowie always referred to himself as "queer" and none of the "gay" community seemed to take offense at that. What I am offended by is when people attack words. They are only words after all and we writers use them (the good and the bad, I might add) to elicit a prescribed response from our reader. There are no "bad" words, only bad people; the sort that wish to judge others. That is my perspective.

Love sees no gender! Deep, man.
The message makes me happy. God loves gays, and I think its wrong how they're mistreated. Especially when people use "gay" as a slang word for "bad". That makes me a little angry. Why should it matter who you fall in love with?
