Lies

Lies

A Poem by Thomas Snider
"

A little bit of a deceit poem I made awhile back. Enjoy.

"

You smile at me
Lovely it is,
But the truth inside I see.

You reach for me
I reach for you
I want to set you free.

I hope to help you
With the love I hold
For you my love is true.

But behind myself
I hide the truth
The me upon the shelf.

Despite loving you
I cannot show me
The me that is true.

So in your smile
You lie to me
And I to you the while.
