Innocents Is Dark Chocolate

Innocents Is Dark Chocolate

A Poem by Thomas Snider
"

I made this for a contest way back when. It was also going to be a poem for a friend of mine for secret santa. Enjoy.

"

Innocent and pure
Untainted by strange nuts or gooing caramel.
Semi-sweet mystery wrapped in paper and foil.
Christmas everyday fingers tear the shell away
Scent of temptation filling the air.
Excitement in every moment.

Finally revealed it leaves the holder in awe.
Though dark in color it's bright like gold
All of the worlds wonders in a single piece.

Sweet burden upon the tongue
Melting gently with the warmth of a spring day.

If innocents were to be anything...
It would definitely be dark.
