I Hope I'll Still Have You

I Hope I'll Still Have You

A Poem by Thomas Snider
"

Something I wrote before I was with my girlfriend. Kind of what I was going through internally. Enjoy.

"

Today I am in wonder…
For today I did a very wonderful wonder.
Though, I do worry if it truly was… or merely just a blunder.
For, I hope nothing I have said has done you wrong,
I hope that things will be but the same as before the words I said.
I hope I can still smile at you from afar only to receive a smile in return.
I hope I can still look into your eyes to see you,
And not watch you avoid my gaze.
I hope I can still embrace you in my arms, when we part ways,
Rather than be left with nothing but an empty good bye.
I hope I am not just a fool, for speaking my words to you.
I hope you are not worried about how to go about things around me,
Now that you know how I feel.
I hope you will not cast me aside,
Leaving me broken and longing for what we use to have.
I hope we can be the same as before…
Friends still true.
Eyes into eyes,
Smiles into smiles,
Hugs and hugs to farewells and farewells.
I hope I’ll still have you…
