Dreams: The unconcious getaway planA Poem by Niall MaddenSee a young girl skipping through a field, watch her miss a step, her pace upset and tumble to the floor. Alas do not fear, the cost is not dear she must merely disappear returning to her psychedelic, subconscious homeland. She strolls to the door with a ethereal air, and soon begins to glance when the door, is not quite there. As it opens to a road with twisty loops and Technicolour tiles. She notices all around her, inanimate things with peculiar smiles, "oh what a wondrously odd place this seems to be" The golden haired girl seems to announce in glee. "why the cats are all see through!" "the duchess rather queer!" "the animals are talking, and some are quite unclear!" as the girl begins to ponder, at this warped wonderland An odder man yet leans over, "we are all mad here" and the bright sensation of light begins to dissipate and disappear and the glorious singing flowers sit in silence for imagined hours. As the girl is drawn back in, the creative canvas of pure joy, seemed to lose its colour and the hatter with no tea, his watch without butter as the solid oaken shield, slammed shut on that whimsical world The girl then shed a tear, because the loss was quite a hurt. When the friendly field did return, it had no appeal left for her. The sky a dreary grey left her sigh in pure dismay but as she flounced into bed to hope the day would come to an end What a wondrous occasion the dream returns, yet again...
