Daybreak

Daybreak

A Poem by Niall Madden

I am sick, I am tired, I am weary

The night veils all and the moon is the first guest

 in this masquerade ball.

as it hangs up on its balcony

Well it heckles and beckons me,

oh the audacity!

I am sick, I am tired, I am dreary

as dripping red sky,

fights back the plague of the night.

I feel it's presence near mine

such as a burning sensation.

White hot anticipation.

I am sick... I am tired...!

he arise's!

the lantern of hope that I have sought all this time,

as he ascends from the depths.

the warmth hits my chest.

I stare into the sky, a glorious glow pierces my eye,

morning has awoken, as have I.

I am well, I am rested, I am lively...
