Rise

They say they hate your words,

They say you have no talent.

They make you seem like caged birds,

And yet, you are more gallant.

You take the step where many will fall,

And never do you desist,

You break the ice and still stand tall.

Yet, they still persist.

Take heart to those who know of grief

And while some tears may be shed,

Strength prevails if you have belief

And you will always remain ahead.

So rise up once more

from that dour mood.

Rise up, release, and soar

and leave those who mock and brood

For you know your heart, at its core.
