WeddingA Poem by Hope Rose
My heart races in my chest
As I feel the slip of satin And the weight of silk and diamonds Then I hear the zip of the gown And open my eyes to see Giving a gasp of shock at what I see Gold is the eye catcher With a pearl neckline That sets everything off Including my dark hair Which shines like rubies Under the veil I look stunning Simply beautiful Like a delicate child Or maybe a porcelain doll Dressed to look like A bride on her wedding day Truth be told Inside I'm freaking out I hide the biggest secret From everyone Including the man I'm promising forever to When "I do" has been said And the whole ordeal is done After the last guests are gone I will slip out of this dress And be with the man I will love forever And maybe someday When the time is right I'll give in to what he wants But that may come soon Because he doesn't know That I carry his child now
