Love And Malice

Love And Malice

A Poem by Sumit Ganguly

Love and malice are sides of a coin
both feed equally to our mood.

We praise the charm of our lover
first for beauty then the qualities,
in the name of understanding
we weigh the obedience.

Affections for young self
have magnetic effects universally.
To avert a conflict of existence
roads of life bifurcate.

Lack of obedience steals
light from both the eyes,
malice and anger are marsh gas
flame and heat cause massacre

The ambit of obedience
cover racial, social, religious fields
greed of power incite people
exodus, wailing choke the air.

To restore peace and equal right
we need a world- wide human chain
the road is long- weather inclement
we have to feel - we can do.
