The Barrier

The Barrier

A Poem by Sumit Ganguly

Long barbed wire- rage- divides nations

imaginary line in the blue sky- fear- keeps nations alert

beyond the waves of shore,

a nation's hand of power keeps control,

subjects are squeezed,

rulers thump feet,

earth is divided in the name of nationalism.

Saints have preached love,

militants- revenge,

-isms tried their best.

We wait for a piper to ease our heat,

rage will succumb to logic, fear- to trust,

no more barriers,

logic and trust may be the  basis of peace.

I agree wholeheartedly Sumit. Only logic (and goodwill) can overcome these man-made obstacles. Sadly those who would have us fight forever find it easy to whip up tensions.
Your heart is so pure as evidenced by this superb piece.
