HerA Poem by Sarah FlaniganA poem about one of my best friendsEvery time I think of her, I think of our freshman year of high school. I think of playing tennis, freaking out over books and bands. I think of the way she spurts song lyrics whenever she feels compelled to do so. I think of broken bones and apple pies. I think of a picnic at midnight, after our senior prom. I think of having a difficult conversation on a chilly April day on top of a hill in the park. I think of swimming in Cold Creek and of creepy, old playground equipment. I think of junk food picnics and wearing matching pants. I think of a time when I was struggling and she kept me afloat. I think of how blessed I am to have her in my life. And when I think of all of our adventures, all those little moments spent with my best friend. When I think of all we've been through together, I think of her. © 2015 Sarah FlaniganReviews
