I Hate Teenagers

I Hate Teenagers

A Poem by Sarah Flanigan
"

One day, my grouchy next-door neighbor told me that she hates teenagers. (I just so happen to be one of those) I didn't have the courage to say this to her face, so I put it down on paper, instead.

"
Okay, grouchy neighbor, I can see where you're coming from. I mean,
I'm young
and reckless.
I usually don't think things through well enough.
I drive too fast
and I eat too slow.
I am the queen of procrastination.
I'm unbelievably lazy.
I am flawed,
because I am only human.

I'm still growing,
learning,
and improving.
Because, after all, that's what life is for.
I'm trying to fix my mistakes.
I've come further than you realize.
I'm just living my human life the best way I know how.

I'm an introverted bookworm. I tend to spend my days drinking far too much coffee and playing my ukulele too loudly. Life is strange and surreal, but also beautiful somehow. more..
