Running

Running

A Poem by Honourbrite

For all of those who loved someone driven by success

Running

Run now- the clock strikes nine

Stop now- because you're mine

All the hours, in every day

Will never be ours to play

Tethered to a perpetual machine

It's seven days, I want to scream!

In the evening hours you're free

But you and I can never be

All the money you possess

Means nothing I confess

You cause me such distress

I am here, but you sent no SOS

Time, it will kill us all

The minutes continue to fall

How can I live for only this:

Elevators, a stolen kiss?

I fear for you my lover,

Our love you cannot cover

Time will take it away

The future is near

But you're not here

I am not the type to wait

Pause: it is my fate

You didn't plan to go so far

I hope this love leaves a scar

For when it is gone, and I told you so

You cannot say, "I didn't know"

You're always running,

One day you may run to me

But- by then who knows

Where I'll be

the poem is describing extremely delicate circumstances, and ones I defy you to illuminate
