Ordinary PleasuresA Poem by Honeypot
When life is heavy and
Breathing seems hard
I wish you a day of
Ordinary pleasures,
A cup of coffee that you didn’t have to make,
A windshield already scraped,
Traffic that is nonexistent,
A day without complaints and
A kind word from a stranger.
You deserve a lingering kiss on your lips,
Twinkling eyes and smile just for you,
Arms to wrap around you and
A night full of sighs and throaty giggles
With secrets just for two.
When life kicks you the hardest,
I wish you a perfect day of
Ordinary pleasures.
