Story of My Life. (I Can't Sleep)

Story of My Life. (I Can't Sleep)

A Poem by Julia Hollywood
"

I had to clean out my computer, and I found this. Let me know what you think.

"

I want to be asleep now,
I want to be in bed,
I want to lay down now,
The pillow on my head.

I took a fistful of aspirin,
Thinking it was late,
But as I began to try to sleep,
I started to hallucinate.

I thought I saw a heard of sheep,
In some random field.
One of them came up to me,
He said his name was Bob,
I sat there and watched him silently,
As he ate corn-on-the-cob.

I hear someone at the door,
I wonder who it could be.
Hopefully it’s someone who will catch me if I OD.

So now it’s really late,
And while I should be asleep.
I'm far away from bed,
It's so sad that all I have

Is the random crap in my head.

Great Job! This is awesome, just work on the rhythm and you'll be a perfect poet! Love it!

Ah I know how you feel although I have never hallucinated and seen a sheep called bob.
This is really entertained. I agree with "iamawriter" the last line might work better if it were condensed.
Nice Write!

The last line might flow a bit better if it was a condensed. But it's still a great poem. I'm an insomniac myself, so I can really relate to this. Keep writing and I will keep reading!
