The Walls

The Walls

A Poem by Julia Hollywood
"

I'm aware of the fact that this is hysterically awful.

"

The wall bleeds.

My heart beats.

It gets smaller,

Closing in on me.

One day the walls will touch one another,

The roof will cave in after.

I don't scream, why bother?

They hear nothing: no misery, no laughter.

And on that day,

Though my heart stops beating,

I know the walls will not stop bleeding.

And on that day,

Some poor girl will take my place.

I can only hope that she is stronger than me,

Because a life is a sad thing to waste.

I'm aware of the fact that this is hysterically awful. I just wanted to add some poetry.
