James

James

A Poem by Holly
"

James the Ghoul

"

James was the cutest ghoul who has ever been seen

With his big dark round eyes and his skin tinged with green

His mop of black hair and his sharp little teeth

And a kind little heart hidden just underneath

He wouldn’t drink human blood, not one lick

And the though of eating them made him quite sick

Instead he was happy and content just to sit

On the ground near his grave with a celery stick

His parents who were rather mad and annoyed

Thought him ugly and strange “What a cute little boy”

They would say in disgust but he’d just smile and sit

On the ground near his grave with a celery stick

Most ghouls all grow all nasty and ugly to boot

But James stayed kind, happy and cute

They may laugh at him but he’s happy to sit

On the ground near his grave with a celery stick.

Other than a few grammar and spelling mistakes, this piece was particularly fun to read. You are a master at character creation for sure. Thanks for this submission. I do, however, consider revising a tiny bit due to the grammar/spelling. Write On! 95/100
