Morbid

Morbid

A Poem by Holly O'Brien
"

Beware, you may find this depressing

"

Morbid

One day you won’t find me waiting

Waiting for you to change

Headed in the wrong direction

Always in the wrong lane

You make my hands dirty

When you hold them in yours

You make my heart lifeless

When my cries are ignored

Can I not turn to you?

My darling you are lost

I cannot turn to you

If I must pay a cost

Hanging on empty promises

Waiting for a yes

And as you forget me

It may be what’s best

Say farewell to destiny

And hello to goodbye

For in my heart I am certain

That I am living a lie

I am not sure whay Bigger was yelling, other than the wonderful piece you wrote here. Sometimes waiting on a man is waiting for wine to mature, some times it yields something wonderful and worth value, other times it yields bitter vinegar that cannot be good in any way shape or form.

This poem reminds us that life is the best teacher. Sometimes we have to experience hurt or failed relationship before we really know what we want. Sometimes we have to be mistreated to appreciate good fellowship. Nicely done.
