Conflict of the Mind

Conflict of the Mind

A Poem by Holly O'Brien

Sometimes we are so sure
But only know little
And what of the God we question?
How can we blame a twisted nature?

Living in daydreams
Like fairy tales of the mind
Light whispers
Conscious story telling

What has been felt
is only rain against the skin
And the cold dampness
Makes it anticipate sunshine

Baby Jesus
please write it over
So that man can see a way
See a way through struggling thoughts...

Seriously Holly, I loved every single line, each brought fourth such truth. I don't know if I would want to do anything over, because of the fact that what we do puts us where we are now. I love where I am, even though I felt such heartache and hurt in the past. Each stanza was equally beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

Wow. I would love a go-back button on life.

What has been felt
is only rain against the skin
And the cold dampness
Makes it anticipate sunshine

I love this verse!

This line, i'm not sure why, had a MASSIVE impact. It feels like confucious or someone should have said that. Overall it's very good.
