Wonderful Wonders

Wonderful Wonders

A Poem by Holly O'Brien

I looked into her eyes today
and I felt a tinge of sweetness
wrapping around my tongue
so tight I couldn't speak
of all the words inside of me

Rest that beautiful smile
Remember that cautious glimpse
Takes my mind for a stroll
Through the back-doors of my heart
And a breath escapes me when I awake

A lust so haunting
It carries my soul and brings it back
A feeling so young
It can only be new
Maybe it's my heart knocking

Head leaned back
eyes closed against the sunset
I can only wish for a chance
for a moment that seems impossible
But it's a chance that seems inevitable

What a wonderfully written piece of work. The chances you wish upon. The first stanza really crawled into my heart. The second made my mind smile, the third gave way to a heat and happiness inside, and the last made goose pimples rise along my thankful skin! Wonderfully written, beautiful!

I completely agree, its so beautiful. Its precisely the way you would want an old lover to look at you and just what you would want them to think. This is really good, kudos!
