A Case of ObligationsA Poem by Holly O'BrienJust a poem I wrote that I hope many if not all can relate to...
All I can do
Is look at you and wonder what your love can promise me... Satisfaction on both ends Sweet thoughts in the middle A bit of pain on the top Uncertainty, just a little We can listen to the rain together Work our differences out Make time to make things better Discover what love's about But I'm afraid of your love Yet I want it all... Mistakes are for people but fate is a call And I don't wish to miss my chances So I'll let my hope take second glances But one must wonder why a planet is only round as a ball? That maybe another shape won't sustain it at all Still, time is getting short and my eyelids grow heavy I no longer hesitate Nor wonder if I'm ready The grip of a sail holding onto tight breeze can easily let go if the wind decides to leave So tell me something darling... Would we sleep every night, and wake up to the promise that things will stay alright? © 2010 Holly O'BrienReviews
