Bloodstone, My GuitarA Poem by HollisAnn HarrisonA "Love Letter" to My First Electric GuitarFrom first sight, I knew you were right. From first touch, I struck a chord or two; Turned on the amp, felt the vibrations from you. I learned a few tricks, And in the mix, I felt that this was better than sex. And, no longer vexed, Time had wings, And I dreamed of bigger things. Our future awaits, And at the gates Of Heaven I stand, With you in hand; A microphone, stage and band will be Our key to unlocking the Great Mystery Of what lies in store Beyond my door. So here’s to you Bloodstone, my new electric sweetheart, And I pledge that we will never part, And make sweet melodies And harmonies To move mountains, Hearken the souls of forty thousand, Until at last I will be free, Amongst the stars and, ultimately, Exactly what I dreamed I could be. © 2016 HollisAnn Harrison |
