King of NightA Poem by Michael Hofmore meandering
I sit on a throne
At night The world Is mine My crown Made of stardust My cape The night sky I preside Over shadowy peasants And the nocturnal creatures Are my constituents My advisor The moon Telling me What's right You see The night is nothing To fear My dear Not while I preside In your king You can confide I sit On this throne With a lit cigarette All alone You sleep You dream And I'll fight The mares That come at night © 2013 Michael Hof |
