That one person

We all need that one person we can talk with and who actually listens

Away from all those eyes,
I had some unheard cries.

My father who cares for me
My mother who adores me
My sister who argues with me
My brother who bullies me

My friends I have drinks with,
I have some memories with
Some really good and tragic some
But still there are more to come

Between all them, what I really need
Is someone I can talk with,
Who actually listens, with whom I can be
My true self, not what they precieve me to be

Author's Note

Our lives always feel empty unless we have someone we can talk with, about our lives, our fears, our problems etc.

I like your poem "That One Person." Your last four lines are beautiful and I think many could relate to those words. I know that I can. I "do" have person in my life and he has made a difference in every areas of my life. God is who I go to first and then my husband. Thanks so much for writing this; so well done!
