The Beautiful Mermaid

The Beautiful Mermaid

A Poem by Hiroshi Masters

The Beautiful mermaid

Down below the blue ocean,

She sung a perfect melody

I am captivated by her sound

Attracted by her sweet tone

Wanted to search for her

Gently kisses her lips

Envisioning her body

I wanted to hold her tight

I dived into the ocean floor

Seeing her sitting alone,

Discovered she's a mermaid

She turns her head and smile

While I hold my breath,

I can't blink my eyes

For she wanted to kiss,

I stared at her blue eyes

While she was humming

Later, I blacked out

I awoken on the shore

Thinking I might be insane

A bright light on my palm,

Realized left a crystal bracelet

Thought I was in a dream

She could be the real woman

Someday we'll meet again

The beautiful mermaid...

Love this poem, especially as I love mermaids. It reads so well it could be a story, the words you've used paint a picture I can see clearly in my mind. My favourite line is: "Thinking I might be insane ,A bright light on my palm, Realized left a crystal bracelet ". The tone changes so well between the subject thinking they may be mad to seeing a brightness in the dark, a crystal. Lovely work x
