Naked BeautyA Poem by Lily VictoriaAugust 12, 2015
The naked bareness of a human face beholds a supernatural beauty that this whole universe has desired to see.
One glance can obliterate the strength of a thousand stars, And yet not one of them are as beautiful. At least, Until an unskilled artist comes in, With an eraser and brush in hand.. "Lets cover what was never meant to be hidden and make you seem more beautiful...." As if the creator had no idea what He was doing in the first place. A beautiful master piece is soon rearranged By an array of lies that say you're somehow not good enough, And you believe it. Until the painting eventually turns grey And every spectrum of vibrance has vanished, You are left with red and black, Streaming down your face. Like fresh tar dripping off the side of its container. The beauty still lies beneath, But a veil remains content in concealing that mystery. As soon as the night comes, The veil is washed off and nakedness is revealed once again. Pure extravagance is a necessity among those who truly want to live, So why should one hide their natural beauty? In a Fake, Materialistic World, beautiful simplicity is a rare gem and I want to fully discover it.
