HEARTBREAK

HEARTBREAK

A Poem by Star

Why does love sometimes sit on our chest and lacerate the heart?

The salt dripping in her eyes

The bleach burning fires

Her eyes are a dried desert

A hot summer sun

Blinded from the scars that have laced them

The moon is the lighted path at night

Over a funeral piece

In the dark she hides all the words that hang on the hinges

of her heart...soul...mind...mouth...

In the night she hides behind a charcoaled face with her

bottle of whiskey....

Her mind is a clouded sky

She drips into the earth her weeping spirit

I relate to your words, Star. Having felt each and every one of them before even I read them.

The words are very beautiful but they paint in a unique way tragedy and heartbreak and the pain and suffering that results. Very well crafted poem. I enjoyed reading this.

Each word perfectly describes the romance... I admire your skills.

I love how melodic this felt. The dark whimsy in her heartbreak is very archaic. For as long as man shall exist...heartbreak will always be inevitable.

You are welcome...:)
Why does love sometimes sit on our chest? So that we can become better at pushing ourselves up with the strength we'll need to survive.
Why does it lacerate the heart? So we can learn to sew and heal others.
(Hey, it's the middle of the night...I had some time to kill! lol)

The rest of this was mesmerizing, especially loved:::: "In the dark she hides all the words that hang on the hinges of her heart...soul...mind...mouth..." .... "She drips into the earth her weeping spirit"

Thanks for the share
