I Want To Go To College

"My name Is Dametria Johnson and want to finish college to do the Culinary Program. This year was a struggle for me. I live in North Carolina and I was very effected my Hurricane Florence.

Because of Hurricane Florence kept me from going to school and doing my work as we didn't have internet and a well manage house live in.The ceiling was falling down and the bathroom and living room of our apartment, wall were leaking, and mold was spreading on the floor. when we told the apartment company about are situation they told us we only have a week to pack up our whole apartment to move out of our small apartment.

It was hard for me because my parents have strange schedules of work and they have to move in the process of all it. both of them work later hours so I had to miss some classes in order to move quickly , I had to help my parents while they were at workout of our apartment. Making failed this semester taking away my Pell Grant so i can't go on to the next semester.

Even though my parents wish they had the money they can't help me pay for the next semester to help me improve.

I don't want my family to suffer to pay for my semester and i have no job to even pay for it. With this money i hope pay for these classes and some books to raise my grades in order to grab my Pell Grant back. This will help support me and my family forever to not worry about something like this to ever happen again. I will be very grateful to those who will help me succeed in my future career to becoming a chef and to also in the future help other who been through the same things i been in.
