Mona Lisa

Mona Lisa

A Poem by Jen Ro

I am the Mona Lisa with the unwanted smile
A fake smile, which is filled,
With an abyss of pain.
The silence are my words
-Like the wind blowing through the trees
My eyes tell my story
-Deep with shadows and fears
My tears that fall are my screams
-Lingering in my nightmarish dreams
My canvas is hidden with messages
- Of hopeful words and memories
I want to speak
I want to shout
I want to cry out
but this Mona Lisa will speak no more
She is forever entangled with the unwanted smile
