A thousand words I never said (Distance is misery)A Poem by Mercy FaeA poem for someone who will never read it.
I wish I could have told you
that I cared for you. I wish I could have held your hand, but teachers are jerks sometimes. We were rather young, but I loved you. Years have passed, emails sent. A thousand words I never said are locked away in my heart because you stopped replying. You promised that you will listen to every email, every voicemail. I wish I would have told you I had a knife in my hand. I wish I would have told you how I put it down before I did something I would later regret. I wish I could have said I loved you, and that I still think of you every day. Trying to see you was difficult, because both times, you were busy. Letting go isn't easy, it's been ten long years, and distance is misery.
