Words wasted

Silence is golden but it can speak volumes too,

         With one wordless glance you gleaned more than you knew,

No sounds to obey, no echoes of lost thought,

         Can interfere with the strange silence you’ve caught,

The void seems empty until you step inside,

         And watch words wasted while quiet tried,

Muting the locution you were desperate to say,

         To show you the soul’s silent way.
