Only the pagan knew god.

Could we go to the dead ocean-

And stick our feet in its skin like needles?

If we’re lucky we can see where the sun used to rise!

 

And if it’s all real-

I might even feel you for the first time

Like I did when there was love

Poem is outstanding. I live by the great lakes. We can't swim in Lake St. Clair shores. The water had been turn to poison by man waste. Your first lines made me remember standing by this beautiful lake of water and not understanding why we would destroy the life blood of the human race. Water and air are needed for life. Poem is amazing. In so few words. You made me think. Goal of a writer. A excellent poem.
