It Burns the SteelA Poem by HiddenKnivesAbout an all consuming fire
In glowing embers rise
hypnotic tides and lines cast and crossed and over devouring all it touches converts and drains its prey the wood it burns and turns to dust in ashes all it leaves behind so used and now discarded The flames arise, consume and bones it leaves behind a rib, a neck, a skull instead, that flesh was once unmarred it creeps and burns, alive it seems to course through veins and life there's nothing left, it's all aflame except the metal knives The steel resists the glowing form rebels with irons might partake and see, the epic plight of flame against the steel. © 2012 HiddenKnives |
