Dystopian Days Ahead

Dystopian Days Ahead

A Poem by HiddenKnives
"

Just something that was on my mind today

"
It was nearing the end
our free lives soon gone
enslaved by a nation
of old neurotic sin

They played the card
and lost the bet
a one eyed jack
and a broken king now rule

He claims the title, guardian
yet slays his people eerily
without remorse of touch
or care to watch

enslaved we are, forgotten
betrayed, stripped down, forgotten

O dystopian world you've forsaken
all that you claimed we would be
a trade off of life for a coin
a coin for a life's not enough
