Through A Birds EyesA Poem by HiddenAngelShort poem about how a sparrow sees her forest throughout the years and changes. In the middle of the woods, on the tallest tree around, I made my nest so I may look around. From winter to spring, summer to fall I watch over the forest and all. And as I watch I note the change. The foxes find new homes, the bears hibernate. Leafs change color and fall to the ground. Marvelous colors all year round. The mother rabbit leads her bunnies to their dinner. A young doe and her fawn sleep through the chitter. Sly foxes hide in the shrub and wait to attack. All they want is merely a snack. Fellow birds may come and go but I have weathered and made this my home. In the brook bellow the salmon swim. Brother bear comes to try and catch him. A rodent scurries across the forest floor. He gives the signal and there go more. As animals change so does the forest. Gust of wind sing us its story. Crunching of leafs echo through the air. The city in the distance seems so fair. As seasons change that city grows near. My animal family scurries in fear. My forest my home grows smaller and smaller. Dare I say I will be here tomorrow? These humans attack us. Cut down our home. My beautiful tree cannot stand alone. Through the eyes of a sparrow look and see. As you cut down my home you do more harm to thee. We will stop providing food. Our trees will no longer provide you with air. You yell at me and say this isn’t fair. You send us to extinction. You bring this on yourself. When the carbon takes over it will be us who have had the last laugh. © 2011 HiddenAngelAuthor's Note
