Not welcomed

Not welcomed

A Poem by HeyUmmWhat
"

People understand the fact that even in the holyest of places you can be not welcomed. Where is one place where you can be wanted or not even judged. Maybe someday this request will happen.

"

People tell me this is the one place where you don’t get judged when you walk in the door,

But the moment they set their eyes on me they saw something I’m not.

They must of saw someone not worth their time,

For I was not welcomed.

The bells ring loud and the preaching starts.

He says here you are welcomed and we should care for others,

But they all look at me as if I was another.

Is it my hair, or maybe skin that makes me not fit in?

Is it my heart, or the clothes I wear?

Tell me the reason behind this quite silence between every else.

Am I just an outsider and just not welcome to come and praise the one who created us all?

No love, no welcome in this place of “worship.”

I just want to scream I’m just looking to fit in,

But they are screaming back at me “People like you aren’t welcome.”

What is different?

Very honest and emotionally driven. Fantastic description of hypocrisy, for it is infinite. I enjoyed it quite well, and honestly have sat right there next to you. Thanks for writing, keep it up!

have a good night,

This is a different poem I have not ever come across. Good topic. You did very well explaining, letting people understand how you feel.
