DREAM

DREAM

A Poem by HeyItsJessica
"

It's about love and war.

"

I was born on a peaceful land.

No wars, no blood on the sand.

No guns. No cries.

All were happy, including the children.

All were safe. All were free.

No one dared to hurt me.

But one day, I heard a gun

All I did was to run.

I wake my parents.

But all I saw was vengeance.

They took them away,

I didn’t know where to stay

So I run. Not being recovered by the broken heart,

Of the fact that my family and I are already apart.

Crying is the only thing I could do,

For a child whose smiles are radiant

And reveries who are abundant.

I came back to our house,

And found nothing but dead cows.

All were turned into flames.

All left were ashes.

My heart breaks,

With this injustice and deadly fate.

I was left alone.

In this heartless scene they have shown.

What will be my tomorrow?

If you’re always turning joys into sorrows.

When will you stop?

We’re tired of getting scared.

We’re tired of losing.

We’re tired of crying.

Until, I wake up.

And I realized it was just a dream.

Good to know that the sad reality was a dream in your poem. But it is a reality in many countries. I liked the poem and the emotion behind it. Well done.
