My love's mirror is crystal clear It shows the truth behind my fear Her bright white light cuts through all night Revealing what folly quickened my fright
Soft and even, her amber glow Melts the frost beneath the snow A pilot light, steady...reliable Making my worries unjustifiable
My love, your heart is hearth and home In a land dark bitter ‘midst sea foam A wane ghost of hope, reborn in your fire Came up from the sea to rekindle my desire
Where I scaled peaks 'til my fingers where frozen You lifted me up with assurance well-chosen May I live my life by your light's reflection For your silvery depths hold my soul's perfection
I feel very fortunate to have read such an absolutely stunning piece from a poet who grasps the true essence of love/romance. Your soulful words are a gift and you share that gift every time you create.
"My love, your heart is hearth and home
In a land dark bitter ‘midst sea foam
A wane ghost of hope, reborn in your fire
Came up from the sea to rekindle my desire"
Love this stanza, the elements of fire, and water...."wane ghost of hope"...favorite line!
"It shows the truth behind my fear"
"Making my worries unjustifiable"
So eloquent and real. Here you truthfully expose your fears and worries. Running from love is cowardice, however you expose them, showing strength.
"Where I scaled peaks 'til my fingers where frozen
You lifted me up with assurance well-chosen
May I live my life by your light's reflection
For your silvery depths hold my soul's perfection"
I believe this piece of art is a true reflection of your soul, showing what happens when you allow yourself to become vulnerable, trusting your partner, and giving your heart and soul...pouring it into the very soul of the one you love.
Truly inspiring love, one of my new favorites from you :)

Oddly when you do honestly write something from the heart, you don't always see what you are doing in a really conscious way. I wrote this knowing how I was feeling but not self consciously, so I love this opportunity to see through your eyes!! Thank you!!!
Its very lovely and romantic, this poetry has got the appeal that will make ladies heart melt.... (if there still exist women who love romance classic style)
I loved the rhyming here, the flow of words and the proposal of love.

This is definitely the sort meant to melt women's hearts and make them swoon, but it is coming from an honest place -I will say that. It was written for an ex. I think this poem still has it's problems here and there, but I like it because overall it says what I have wanted to say many times. That way the right woman can give you just enough hope and warmth to carry on, no matter how dark and cold it is.

I was lucky with this one. I feel it is the most complete feeling of all my poems. It was a happy accident of a few times recrossing the same theme until it had all I meant it to have in one place...I love that you feel it!
Pure and divine! That's how I can define this work of art.

I feel this is one that was lucky enough to really come together. I still have a few things I am not sure about, but for the most part it was that rare kind of poem where I felt it from beginning to end.

The fascinating thing is how you can create a poem that feels so personal when you write it, but then you realize when others read it that it can be very universal. It is always a strange balance to strike. You almost never know what is too personal to be accepted and what is too generalized to have any real substance. Here it was a happy coincidence that I wrote something personal and it turned out to be relatively universal! I am glad for your comment! Thank you!!
I really enjoyed this poem. It was very heart-felt. You have a way with words. I will definitely read more of your work.

I wrote this and honed it in over a few iterations and finally I got it to say what I wanted it to say! So rarely does it seem that I can return to a poem and have it say just what I want it to say. You are correct that this is from the heart.
The depth of love in the heart is a mysterious thing. When reaching out the touch inside touches your soul. Giving rest to a restless mind.
That's about as close as I could come to what it had me feeling and understanding. This is one of those mind teaser (for me) that has me reading it over until it seeps inside me little by little. Needless to say its warm in sincerity and beauty. I'm not surprised. Not coming from you.

If I can have just a few poems like that I will be very proud. It is so hard to achieve that because it means there are stark oppositions that need to be met in the middle. This poem quite literally just fell together right. I wish I could create poetry like this without waiting for inspiration to strike. I am better than I used to be, but I wrote this in 2007, so it is more of a fluke that it just plain came out!

Warm and inviting, this has that glow of love's fiery depths. Complex emotions yet simply stated, really like your reflections in love's mirror. Nicely pen'd Robby.

I'm foolishly romantic. I like realism and surrealism in all different forms of art. I feel that when you can use reality to show your truth, then you have achieved the most powerful form of art pos.. more..
