Am I real?

Am I real?

A Poem by Austin Blay
"

Lyrics to a question of imminent reality. It deals with the physicality and its sub-conscious.

"

Verse:

When the fire subsides and the embers provide a view

A shadow will exist beyond the flames

If you try to reach out the image will vanish

Leaving an inch of regret in the conscious mind

Haunted by the apparition with no doubt of reality

Look into the past and realize your absence

Infinite meaning lies in an original thought

Choices based on faith leave you feeling empty

Chorus:

The truth cuts me down

But the lie builds me back

Hoping the figure finds me

And I can prove it real...

Am I real?

Verse:

Rewind and recollect the gap

Realize that dreams are not memories

They are the answer to the doubt

Persevere, The shadow will return to comfort

One day the fire appears offering surrender

Unafraid you jump through the embers

The shadow grabs your shattered soul

Shutting you out and forcing you to bleed

Chorus:

The truth cuts me down

But the lie builds me back

Hoping the figure finds me

And I can prove it real...

Are you real?
