Rambling Danger

A short drabble inspired by the TV show Supernatural

SUPERNATURAL

 

You: Hey I saw a genie!

Me: Oh God, are you alright?

You: Yeah, it granted me my deepest wish!

Me: (hesitantly, feigning interest) . . . and what was that?

You: eternal life

Me: (relieved) oh, that’s funny

You: Why?

Me: ‘Cuz there’s always a loophole in those genie contracts. (Shakes head dismissively)

You: (Shocked) what?! You telling me I got ripped off? Like, I can still die?

Me: (picking up solid iron crowbar) yeah

You: . . . what-what are you doing with that?

Me: . . . Nothing. (Sneaks forward subtly)

You: (backing away quickly) c-come on man, what are you doing?

Me: (sees eyes turning blue) granting a wish of my own!

You: no! (Metal thud)

Me: (watching with a smile) yes, oh yes. (Chuckles manically) Good riddance

Partner watching from behind the door: that was quick

Me: what, no help?

Partner: You had it covered. It was more fun watching you brain the sucker anyway.

Me: (suspiciously) Really? Cause you wouldn’t have said that yesterday. . .

Partner: well, I’m not a big fan of genies.

Me: . . . (pulls bottle of holy water laced with salt out of pocket, takes a swig.)

Partner: (confused) thirsty?

Me: (smacks lips) ahh, yeah. (smiles slightly) you?

Partner: yeah, actually. (takes bottle, chugs rest of water)

Me: (backing away slowly, grinning)

Partner: (gagging, choking on salt) you . . . !

Me: (silently) good riddance, my friend.

(Struggle starts, continues out of sight)

 

(. . . . Thud)

 

?: that was easy. A little too easy . . . . (takes drink of water) all well.

(whistling)

(foot steps fade into distance)

??: (deep groan) never . . .  leave a t-target breathing . . . (passes out)

(demonic hissing issues, dark shadow seeping from off stage to pursue first voice)

You’re mine . . .

(soft crying) oh god, no! (scream �" cut off suddenly)

(quiet thump)

(footsteps back on stage, towards audience) Anyone here up for drinks?
