The Great Debate

The Great Debate

A Poem by Jayna Burch
"

A lost love poem

"
The Heart wants what it can not have
The Heart wants what it should not want
The Heart has what it can have
The Heart has what it should want
So why does my heart break so?

The Head tells the Heart you're crazy
The Head shows the Heart the beauty it has
The Head knows what the Heart should want
The Head shows the Heart why wanting is wrong
But... the Heart will not listen.

The Heart tells the Head there is no beauty without love
The Head tells the Heart that love is hurting by just continuing
And so the debate goes on between them
Neither can or will win
And I will remain torn between between my Head and my Heart.
