The Drop

The Drop

A Poem by AK

A drop tipped
Upon the canvas of her cheek
And she embraced it
As if it were her own--

In fading grey skies,
Sired, desolate as the
Lone star in the night sky,
It tainted the once
Empty piece,
Reposing for evermore.

A drop tipped
Upon the canvas of her cheek
And she embraced it
As if it were her own.

Author's Note

AK
Just a melodramatic account of a droplet of water falling on my cheek while I was walking in the park.

Really beautiful poem. Well written and the words used seem to be perfect lyrically.

Please review some of my work.

Thanks!
melodramatic?
If I didn't read your author's note i'd say it seems rather mournful.
But if i take it in the context you've provided then it seems... whimsical.
Either way, it's very well done!
