Her Eyes Deceive Me

Her Eyes Deceive Me

A Poem by Alicia Nicole

See it through my eyes

The bitter anxiety that tends to flow through my veins
The unbearable desire to tend to the screams of sharpened steal
The pure obsession to repeat the phrases over and over to ears that never hear

"And I'm surprised we got this far with this barricade but I want more and I would be a fool to let you let me quit. "

You let me in
And let me see the beautiful romance
You threw me away
And let me see the beastly abrasions
You gave me a heart
And let me to know the beaten box
You let me in
And didn't cease to break it all down once again

Its so vague, the way I appear within your eyes
Like a silouhette of a million others flowing out to sea

You've given me an ignorant hope to think I could become all that you need
Maybe a superhero in the lightest of ways
I have yet to see what could be

Everything has disepated
And there's nothing left here
There's no longer a you and me
There is no heart
There is no love
There is no hand out stretched waiting for a longing grasp

Every single star I wished upon within one last lonesome night has evaporated to lie with your sullen tears

Where'd I go wrong?
What was it this time that changed your words?
Take a minute to sit and listen
Take a second and just explain
I can give you the ocean I can you me
I have no patients left to hold
I can't surface to these games, it seems

Seems to me like I will remain
Only as
Another one that got trapped within the webs of love
To me it looks like
There
Isn't
Anything
Left

Why t-r-y
