![]() The Song Without a Title, The River That Doesn't FlowA Poem by Alicia Nicole
It all begin so long ago.
A girl fell in love and gave her heart away. Memories were made and words were said. Hearts were broken. Love was lost. Every night she sits around staring blankly at everything she's ever known. She wonders. Thoughts fly across her vision so fast its impossible to catch every last one of them. Some things will be for ever lost Others will be found She wonders. What did I do? Where did I go wrong? I gave it all I had I said the words I swore never to speak again. I gave it away only to get it thrown right back in my face. She fell in love and that fell apart There was a story And now there is only a blank page with no title It was unlike any other And she stills wonders Was it ever what you thought Was it ever anything more than words Meaningless Unspoken Left behind Hated Betrayed Forsaken Missed Loved She makes her wishes on stars and dandelions Hoping one day you'll come back to her But for now She doesn't want the memories She doesn't want the words She doesn't want the wishes She doesn't want your love She want's things back to normal She want's it back without the heartbreak She want's her veins to pump red Everything she want's and everything she needs is waiting unseen out by the river that doesn't flow. © 2011 Alicia Nicole |
