Left Incomplete

Left Incomplete

A Poem by Alicia Nicole

Now I lay me down to sleep

I close my eyes filled with forbidden lure

I close my mind to every thought that passes

My body searches for a warmth it knows isn't there

I cry in defeat of over exuberant emotions

A sweet symphony of bitter sobs fills the thinning air as tears stains burn a track against innocent skin

Now I lay me down to sleep

Every voice quietly flows and breaks the eerie quiet

Every sound is forced to be heard

Every scream bounces around

The heat of a mid summers day and your arms around me tights seem to become something of forgotten lure

Dreams

Fantasy

Wishes

It kills me slowly, wrenching apart a blood-beating heart

She craves beauty

She craves love

"Once upon a midnight dreary while I ponder weak and weary"

A silent plea rumbles past like thunder

Watching as the numbers move forward

Another minute lost

Another memory gained

Another minute toward hopes of you

Another memory almost forgotten

Wonders escape and fill the stars with helium

A silent plea rumbles like thunder

I do love thee

Like an ocean that fills the sky

A ribbon colored disaster

Words strung together forming another delusion
