Life's illusion

Life's illusion

A Poem by Gresenthaul

Life’s Illusion

By Refujio V. Gresenthaul

is life what we see or is it just an illusion

is it an illusion who has entrapped our souls

an illusion of which is filled with false promise

an illusion that which tortures our soul

and eats away at our bones and hearts

An illusion that feeds off pain and suffering

and illusion that which only gives us glimpses

to a life that will never be

is this not torture or

is torture only physical

but yet this illusion seems to be more painful

for it is so evil and so dark that

physical torture is but a tickle in diguise

oh what a life

and yet the masses keep working

keep working for a system that promises

and promises

and promises to promise

but only glimpses do we get

only samples

only promises …

hope is all we can do

for hope is all we were ever meant to do.

It's very clever the way you started this, it's really an attention grabber. But I absolutely love your poem in general, it's not some painted up picture of the reality none or very few of us have. It's not a promise things will be that reality either. It's very realist. A great read, I really enjoyed it :)
